Abstract:
The main objective of this article is to quantitatively estimation of berberine content in polyherbal DiaCurex capsules. The analytical HPLC method was developed by using shimadzu C18 column (250 mm X 4.6 mm, 5 µm) and an isocratic mixture of 3.4 gm KH2PO4 and 1.7 gm Sodium lauryl sulphate dissolve in 1000ml of a mixture of water and acetonitrile (1:1) as a mobile phase. The flow rate was adjusted to 1.5 ml/min. Injection volume was adjusted to 10 µl and detection was made at 345 nm. The assay of Berberine Content in 3 batches of DiaCurex Capsules was 25.93%w/w, 27.17%w/w and 25.97%w/w respectively. And the amount of berberine present in DiaCurex Capsules batches are 145.86 mg, 146.24 mg and 145.82 mg respectively. The standardization parameters such as organoleptic evaluation, average weight, weight variation, disintegration time and moisture content for the formulated capsules were done. And these all-result shows that the polyherbal formulation DiaCurex capsules are more effective for the treatment of diabetes mellitus
